Increasing evidences are demonstrating that structural and functional properties of non-neuronal brain cells, called astrocytes, such as those cytoskeleton ion channels, critical for physiology. Also, changes in astrocytes structure function concur to might determine the outcome neuronal damage acute neurological conditions or chronic disease. Thus, design engineering biomaterials can drive is growing interest neuroregenerative medicine. Poly-?-caprolactone (PCL), FDA-approved polyester having excellent mechanical chemical be tailored obtain neural implants regenerative purposes. However, study on use PCL substrates purposes mainly aimed at investigating interaction material with neurons.
